Hjelte Sports Center is a multi-use athletic facility in the Sepulveda Basin supporting organized sports, leagues, youth programs, independent athletes, informal groups, recreation and community activities — all sharing the same fields, paths and open turf.

Hjelte belongs to everyone who uses it — permitted organizations, community and independent groups, and neighbours who just come to play. Joining is how the people who use the park share the work and the cost of keeping it good.

Chip in when you're ready
Pick the project and the group below, then choose your amount on Stripe's own secure page — card details never touch this site. Anyone can contribute for any group at Hjelte; a permit is not required. Both choices travel with the payment as its memo.
Hjelte community members administer community contributions for Hjelte projects and upkeep. A 5% share of each contribution covers administration and processing; the rest goes to the fields. Contributions are not payments to the City of Los Angeles and do not grant permit status or exclusive use of any field.

Who Keeps Hjelte Going
The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks maintains Hjelte Sports Center — the fields, the buildings and the grounds. Permitted upkeep and maintenance of the cricket pitch and its playing area is carried out by Los Angeles Cricket. Everything below is the volunteer effort logged on top of that, by the groups who play here.

Recreation and Parks
Maintains the park: mowing and irrigation, the restroom building, lighting, the diamonds and the shared outfield, waste collection and the perimeter road. Permits for organized activity are issued here too.

Los Angeles Cricket
Maintains the cricket pitch and its playing area under permit: mowing, rolling and crease marking, boundary set-up on match days, and keeping the prepared turf playable between sessions.

Getting a Field Permit at Hjelte
Facility permits for softball, baseball, cricket and soccer use at Hjelte Sports Center are issued by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, not by this community hub. Call the permit office on 818-765-0284 or see the official Hjelte Sports Center page for applications, fees and availability.
This hub is maintained by the Hjelte community. It is not an official City of Los Angeles website.
